Karla & Miguel’s Engagement Photos
Karla & Miguel’s Engagement Photos were taken at Schoepfle Gardens in the Lorain Metropark System in Birmingham, Ohio. This was what Karla & Miguel wanted more than anything and I am so glad they did! It is a beautiful 70-acre botanical garden and natural woodland bordered by the Vermilion River (Ohio) and features collections of rhododendrons, roses, lilies, hostas, various shade plants, along with many varieties of shrubs, topiary and trees. Schoepfle Gardens was the ancestral home of the Schoepfle family and in 1969 the property was donated to the Lorain County Metro Parks. The formal garden contains a wide central path lined with hedges and topiaries. Grassy side paths wander through colorful and exotic flowers. The garden’s colors change every few weeks in the warmer months as new species come into bloom. Spring-time bulbs are abundant with many varieties of tulips and daffodils. Summer-time flowers include an extensive selection of roses. In other words . . . LOTS of beautiful places to take amazing engagement photos.
On April 30th we arrived at the gardens under overcast skies and the threat of rain but that didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. Karla & Miguel were real troopers and stood in the drizzle and had fun creating wonderful engagement photos. I had never been there and was amazed at how beautiful the gardens were. The tulips were in full bloom as well as many of the flowering trees and we took advantage of everything, showcasing them as a backdrop to Karla and Miguel in as many photos as possible. Without a photographer to capture the moment when Miguel proposed to Karla we recreated the moment with the help of a pink umbrella.
It was a beautiful location and we had so much fun creating wonderful intimate moments they can cherish for a lifetime. I mean, just look at those beautiful smiles! Thank you Karla & Miguel for asking me to collaborate on your engagement photos.
