A Little Bit About Me

Jeannette Palsa – J. Palsa Photography

“So, a little bit about me . . . I have been producing photographic portraits, wedding art and commercial images for the past 20 years. I have studied many of the techniques first developed by the old masters of photography in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and have practiced many of them for the last 16 years. My work has a delicate pictorial style in which I strive to create an evocative mood and ambiance.  I love the excitement of capturing and creating timeless, elegant photographic art for my clients.  Have a wonderful visit looking through my image galleries and contact me about getting together to create some magic!”

For many years I have worked tirelessly to gain a reputation for work in the historic photographic processes including platinum/palladium, albumen along with ambrotypes and tintypes using the wet-collodion process.  Most recently I have been experimenting with the photographic encaustic process.  Please visit my Encaustic and Collodion galleries to become familiar and learn about the these processes and methods.

My work has been selected for exhibition in international , regional and local juried exhibitions. Work resides nationally in private collections and in the archives of Lake View Cemetery, Cleveland, Ohio; The Sailors and Soldiers Monument Museum, Cleveland, Ohio and the Kinsey Institute, Bloomington, Indiana, along with many others.  I have also had the privilege of receiving two Individual Artist Excellence Awards from the Ohio Arts Council for my creative Fine Art work.

So humbled and thrilled to be a 3 time recipient of Ohio ArtsCouncilIndividualExcellenceAward: FY2005, 20011 and 2021
